A Trustworthy Investment

In what are you invested? In what do you trust that you throw your heart into an investment fully? And what have you invested the hard-earned fruits of your labours in?
We all have treasures we hold dear; some hold money or possessions and do all they can to keep them and make them grow, yet fail to find satisfaction in them. Others hold reputation as their highest treasure and take pride in others' high regard, yet still upset and alienate those dear to them. Still others regard their bodies as their treasure, constantly pampering them and covering them with fine clothes and makeup to hide their imperfections, yet failing to make them perfect and last forever. And then there are those whose highest treasure is their knowledge and worldly wisdom that sets them apart from the rest and labels them intelligent, yet still searching for understanding of life and not finding it.
So, what is your treasure and where are you choosing to invest it? We all invest in something, or in other words, we all trust in something or someone. The danger of investing something valuable in something or someone is that only time will tell whether that investment was sound and returned a profit, or whether it was foolishness and all is lost.
We have all taken a risk by investing in and trusting someone, only to have them not turn out as hoped, betray us, hurt us, or take advantage of us. We have all invested in things that look good but turn out not to be what we wanted or hoped for, such as a new car, designer clothes, a new house, or stocks and shares. We've all looked to invest in something or someone, but we know the risks and have experienced losses before.
The Bible says in Matthew 6:19 not to invest in the things of the world but to invest in the things of heaven, where they will not suffer loss. And here is the point, it's where you put your greatest treasure that counts. Where have you put your heart? Where are your heart's desires, passions, thoughts, hopes, aspirations, and longings?
Where are you investing your heart? Read the verses below and drink in the wisdom. Invest in heaven where the Almighty God is, and you will reap eternal reward for your trust in Him. Invest in Jesus because He invests in you.
"Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Matthew 6:19-21
But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus Ephesians 2:4-6
