All I want in paradise

What would I look forward to in heaven
That’s not accessible or plentiful on earth?
And how is death a doorway to eternity
That we don’t already have through new birth?
All I want in paradise is Jesus
Whose blood already washed away my sin
For if a throne without a king is simply meaningless
What’s the point of heaven without him?
Lord, we pray, “As your will is done in heaven
Father let it so be done here on earth!”
What greater is the experience of paradise
Than to realise our true value and true worth
I long to have encounters with your presence
For above all other things, I love you first
But though you touch me with the power of heaven
Jesus, it’s you for whom my brokenness thirsts
Oh, I know there is a place without sorrow
And I can’t wait to get to heaven - don’t get me wrong
But I don’t ever want to put off ‘til tomorrow
What the cross declares has already come
All I want in paradise is Jesus
Whose blood already washed away my sin
For if a throne without a king is simply meaningless
What’s the point of heaven without him?
