Camellia Bench

Camellia Bench
I stumbled across a seat
Strewn with camellia petals
So magnificently posed
And richly spread
How could I sit down on it
And sabotage such beauty?
I stand aghast
Around and above the seat
Were hanging down in clusters
Cascades of Autumn rose
And fading reds
The bench was proudly crowned by this
It beckoned gently to me
As skies grew dark
But I’m called up to another seat
Whose flowers are the blood of Jesus
Who gave his life for me
And vanquished death
Suddenly I’m found on it
His grace and power infuse me
As one heart
Since then, I often walk this way
Reflecting on the flowers
A scene so sweet
My heart could not forget
I feel the timeless love of God
The Shining One who knew me
From the start
