Emerald Rainbow

John speaking in Revelation 4:3 says;
‘At once I was in the Spirit, and there before me was a throne in heaven with
someone sitting on it. And the one who sat there had the appearance of jasper
and carnelian. A rainbow, resembling an emerald, encircled the throne.’
What does it mean for a rainbow to resemble an emerald?
I’ll have a go at a suggestion as to what it could mean;
Imagine you are standing by the side of a waterfall in a lush green forest, a
large tumbling waterfall. The water is cascading from above your head and
flowing past you, crashing over rocks as it goes, roaring into the river at the
bottom, way below you.
The trees of the forest are leaning in all around, pushing their branches closer
and closer to the water. Bright sun is shining through the leaves, all of different
shapes and hues of green, each dancing on their branches in the force of the
spray thrown from the water as it cascades. As the sun light shines through
each leaf an abundant, green glow surrounds the waterfall. And as each water
droplet in the spray being flung from the flow of water catches the light of the
sun it radiates with rainbow light, a thousand tiny rainbows gather, creating a
brilliant arc of rainbow colour, sparkling with iridescent light.
The green glow of the forest forms an alive, shimmering, emerald backdrop to
the rainbow glittering of the waterfall.
A rainbow that resembles an emerald.
