Lullabies of Freedom

Can you hear the music
Listen to its melody
So calming and so soothing
Not earthly but heavenly
I’ve never known such harmonies
So powerful - my lungs
Can almost breathe them …

Like a symphony
That never dies
They sing to me their lullabies
Of freedom
Salvation is a gift
But I felt I had to earn it
All the years I’ve lived
I needed to deserve it
I hear the angels by my side
Even though my human eyes
Can’t see them
I hear sweet words of lifetime
My inner world -transforming
Like honey from a hive
The liquid love is pouring
They sing the law of liberty
That smashes all our recipes
Of reason
Like a symphony
That never dies
They sing to me their lullabies
Of freedom
I used to read the words
But never grasped their meaning
Everything was blurred
Yet vital and intriguing
But now they wake my dawn
And together with them all
My heart is leaping
Around us endless clouds
Of witnesses surround us
And creatures, elders, kings
That heaven sends to crown us
As worshippers of Him
They wrap us with the robes
Of their allegiance
Like a symphony
That never dies
They sing to me their lullabies
Of freedom
