“Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.”
Hebrews 4:16 KJVAAE
How incredible it is that we get to approach the throne of God?
The verse starts with
‘Let Us approach boldly ’
Historically, if anyone dared approach a king or queen's throne without their sceptre being extended to them, they would be put to death. It was such an offence.
Yet we not only get to approach the king of kings, but we can do it boldly.
How often in our prayers do we metaphorically come to him with bowed heads and with great shame? Slowly walking towards Him with heavy hearts and minds, misbelieving that He will not be happy with us?
Almost waiting for His booming voice, “Not today, child, you have messed up, and I do not want you in my presence”
What happens when we approach His throne?
We find Him waiting with open arms, ready to give us all that we need.
Mercy, grace, forgiveness, love, acceptance, peace.
A listening ear, Wisdom, Knowledge, Healing.
What are you in need of today?
Go to the only place that is open 24-7. God never slumbers or sleeps.
“He will not let your foot slip— he who watches over you will not slumber; indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.”
Psalms 121:3-4 NIV
He is waiting for you, arms wide open.
When you spend time in His presence, tell Him all that’s in your heart, then sit a while with Him.
In His presence, there is fullness of joy.
“You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.”
Psalms 16:11 NIV
In His presence, all that you have carried becomes smaller as you realise He is so much bigger than all that you are facing.
