Shades of Grace

There are times when I seem to walk a lonely road

But deep inside my heart is lost in your embrace

And at the moment I lay down my heavy load

Your eyes of love are burning deep into my face

It’s like I’m dreaming

But I’m simply leaning

Into you

My clouds of grey

Are being transformed

To sapphire blue

Shades of grace

For years I strove to be who I already was

I didn’t realise who I’d been already made

Until the day I touched the power of the blood

That put an end to sin, corruption and decay

There’s no theatre, no more scripts and lines to learn

No performance, wearing masks , religious plays

All the gifts I tried to work so hard to earn

Are falling down to me like gold from outer space

It’s like I’m dreaming

But I’m simply leaning

Into you
