The Lord's raw material

At the start of the day, consider yourself as raw material in the hands of the Master Craftsman whose aim is to transform that raw material into something useful, beautiful, and purposeful.

It might be a blank page on which a new song or fresh story is written, or even a beautiful sketch created, one that is personal and meaningful to you, and one that holds significance for those around you.

It may be a blank canvas, fresh and new, resting on The Great Painter's easel, where He uses vibrant colours of His choice to craft a beautiful masterpiece for all to see and marvel at.

It might be a lump of clay that the Master Potter takes and, with skilful hands, works with to create a vessel of honour from the raw material found in the earth of your life —a vessel capable of holding His glory and being poured out as a drink offered.

Or it might be a solid lump of gold that the Master Craftsman shapes and turns into a lamp containing His Oil, which is then lit to shine brightly in the darkness.

Or it could be a rock that has often been overlooked, unaware of its contents, but The Blacksmith takes it and heats it until it becomes molten metal, which is then crafted into a weapon of war used to defeat the enemy.

Whatever you are or have today, present it to the Lord, and he will be able to use whatever you offer and transform it into something beautiful, something of eternal significance, something with purpose—something that reflects his glory and brings honour to him.

But first, you must offer him your blank page, your fresh canvas, your lump of clay, your ingot of gold, and your lump of rock, and he can transform even the most basic elements into a thing of beauty for all to see, for His Glory.

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Romans 12:1-2
