The Place Dreams Come Alive

As sons and daughters of God, most of us have dreams,
ambitions, or aspirations of excelling to a form of greatness in
Kingdom matters. It may be revelling in God’s greatness or our
innocent desire for His magnificence operating through us.
Nonetheless, if we’re human, it is built within us to become more
than our predecessors.
As we mature, life has a way of diminishing the drive within us to
achieve our heart’s desires. Romans 12:29 reminds us: For God’s
gifts and his call can never be withdrawn. But, as most of us
realize, life can add to or take away from what has always been in
us to accomplish. Hence why, children dream big. Their young
minds have not been hammered down with so much negativity. It
is our duty as adults to make sure we help steward what’s placed
in them, as well as taking care of our own hearts.
For us, it’s been challenging. Obedience has its price, and the
price is high while waiting for the rewards. But when we get
impatient, we have the gift of God asking us, “Do you trust Me?”
Be still, and know that I am God. (Psalm 46:10).
So, how do we keep our dreams alive? Sometimes, we have to let
go of them. If it came from God, it will return at its proper time. If
not, then surely something better awaits us. I’m reminded that not
everything given to us is about us, especially in building legacy.
Personally speaking, we had to leave everything behind us so
that the LORD could rewrite and reweave our desires with Him
and from Him. Again, obedience has its price, but the price of
discontentment is much higher as one tends to dry up and fade
away in the misery that accompanies a lack of purpose even though
we may be deemed ‘successful’ by most standards. Holy Spirit
placed a holy dissatisfaction within us, which caused us to move in
the direction He wanted for us. Submission to His master plan
took some time, but then it became, ‘Not my will but Yours.’
Unbeknownst to us, in the middle of so much vying for our
attention, the dreams from decades ago have returned with a new
look and without the selfish tag stuck to them. So, what
changed? Being in the proper Kingdom alignment with the
willingness to start again at zero and build from there. With that
came being with like-hearted saints who believe that if God says
we can, then we will.
If our dreams become idle, or we have placed them on the shelf
for a bit, it’s okay. Whatever is God’s desire for you, for us, and
we are willing and obedient; not only do dreams come alive, but they come back to life in many cases. Be ready.
Multiplied blessings, everyone!
