The way you look at me

You rooted out my sin and mess
Replaced it with your peace
Now I’ve become your righteousness
A son, a king, a priest
I rest my head upon your chest
The place I love to lean
You tell me I am sanctified
That I’m completely clean
How you see me is amazing
Too incredible, too crazy
To believe
So as my soul recovers
Teach me to look at others
The way you look at me
You severed me from all the past
On the cross at Calvary
Your resurrection raised me up
To reign here on your seat
You wrap me in royal robe
I have no words to speak
And on my head a crown of gold
Your tears flow down my cheek
How you see me is amazing
Too incredible, too crazy
To believe
So as my soul recovers
Teach me to look at others
The way you look at me
You tell me to sit down with you
So you can wash my feet
Because to you I’m beautiful
Restored, made new, complete
You tell me I am favoured like
A prince, a king, a queen
You tell me you were by my side
Everywhere I’ve been
How you see me is amazing
Too incredible, too crazy
To believe
So as my soul recovers
Teach me to look at others
The way you look at me
A table in the wilderness
Your grace has laid complete
In order that forever more
Together we will feast
You tell me I am beautiful
A picture so serene
A rainbow of more colours
Than eyes have ever seen
You say I’m like a drama
The most romantic scene
A glorious panorama
Of reds and blues and greens
My heart within now shudders
As you whisper words of rest
But words of love you utter
I’m broken, I’m a mess
You say that I’m more beautiful
Than any living soul
Has ever been
How you see me is amazing
Too incredible, too crazy
To believe
So as my soul recovers
Teach me to look at others
The way you look at me
While my soul recovers
Please help me look at others
The way you look at me
