Come

There is a cry from the heavens, a shout, a command, a heartfelt request to "Come."

The call is different to different people, as is the emotion and the nature of the call.

To some, "Come" is a command that must be obeyed, a command that comes when a petulant child ignores its parents or when danger is approaching. When we hear "Come", there is such a weight of authority that we would be fools not to react immediately.

"So Come."

For others, the Lord says, "Come," with tears, imploring you to come, begging you to leave what you are doing, forsake everything, and come into his presence. This is the "Come" of a parent longing to lavish love and affection on a distant, hurting child, the longing to bring comfort.

"So come."

For some, it is a shout, invitation, and proclamation that alerts you to what is on offer. It is an awakening to the possibility of enjoying something unexpected. It is an invitation to a Royal party that you never thought you would receive because you considered yourself too lowly and of little consequence, but the invitation is there and cannot be dismissed, for what an opportunity to meet the King and see his glorious palace.

"So Come"

For we have all been invited, commanded, and implored to come at one stage or another and come, we must. Even at the end of this life, even if we have ignored the call, we will still have to come. Whether we like it or not, we will go before him and explain why we refused his invitation, command and shout, and see what we missed out on for eternity.

"So Come", come now before it is too late, come now into his arms and enjoy that embrace of your heavenly Father's arms of acceptance, come into the fullness of the life offered, go into the very heart of Jesus.
