Noahs and Joshuas Part two

Then there are the Joshuas who find themselves leading the people who have been well-versed in the business of kingdoms, who know the heart of God and who have remained in his presence. These Joshuas are to take my people from the structures that have kept them in the wilderness for decades into their promised land, the land flowing with milk and honey, a place for my people to flourish, says the Lord.

But right now, my people see the impossibility of the flooded Jordan before them, have started to accept that the wilderness is their only option, and are settling for what they know, giving up on what could be.

My Joshuas are of a different cloth and made of a different metal, wrought in my presence and in my glory. The cry of these Joshuas to my people on this day is to “sanctify yourselves, for tomorrow we cross over the Jordan into the promised land.”

As the Joshuas rise, they will declare hope for a better life of abundance on the other side, and that wilderness living has served its purpose. My people need to gird up their loins, step out in faith, engage in the miraculous, and cross over into the promised, abundant land that I have given them.

The choice is simple: stay in the wilderness and starve to death and die of thirst, or gather as one people at the call of the Joshuas, separate from the wilderness identity and experience, and reach across the waters into the promised land that I have given them.

 I AM providing a way, and yes, the waters will part as a miraculous act on my part, but it is your choice whether to cross over or not. Listen to the Joshuas and respond to the call. Prepare yourself to cross over and enter the kingdom I have prepared for you, says the Lord.

(Practical note from the writer) It is important to look and see what the Lord is doing in these times; He wants a united people who long for more than the ordinary and are ready to be led by solid, honourable men to do the works of Jesus and more. Yes, this is the work of the Spirit, but in this time a special breed of leaders is needed to bring the people out of the complacency and corruption of the wilderness, where the rations have been meagre and the journey difficult. This is a time for the people of God to move from what they have known for generations into the new, exciting and miraculous, into a new day, into a new way that the Good Shepherd is leading us.
