A Mighty Oak

The mighty Oak stood in the corner of the field.
Its branches reaching to the azure, blue sky.
She looked at its majestic beauty
And wondered?
How could something so strong and beautiful have grown here?
It was in the corner of a long-forgotten field.
A long-neglected garden.
Yet it had quietly continued to grow.
Through storms
Lightning, thunder and rain.
The relentless rain.
The mind-numbing snow
The twinkling frost.
All of nature’s fury
But also, the warming rays of the sun.
She sat
Watching the birds twitter,
As they danced among the leaves and branches.
Saw the wind gently move the branches
In a slow elegant dance.
Then in the quiet
She heard His voice
“Just like you, my darling.”
“You have grown in the storm”
“In the rain”
“In the hardship of life”
“You have stood steadfast in My love”
Sometimes it has felt as if
Everything has been stripped away
You have been all alone.
Other times it is as if the very sun
Has been the only thing to warm You,
Yet through it all
You have remained
Just like the mighty Oak.
Steadfast and true.
Rooted and grounded in Me.
My darling,
My love
I am your Heavenly Father
Have watched you grow,
In the quiet garden of Your life.
I have helped you walk through every storm
And I never left you.
You did not see your growth
Others did.
But my child
I have taught You to be a mighty Oak.
Others will be blessed in the shade of your branches.
But You are rooted and grounded in Me.
I and I alone am your source.
I love what you have become
And are becoming.
Love you always Mighty Warrior
Love you always, Dad.
