Crumbs

What is it that you're eating today?

Is it crumbs, or is it a feast gourmet?

And where are you finding your food?

Is it from the discarded scraps, half chewed?

What and how you eat defines who you are.

Do you eat the whole biscuit or just the crumbs in the jar?

And where you eat is also important too,

Is it under, by, or at the table? What's your view?

Are you like the dogs that eat the crumbs under the table?

Or in the background, not partaking, a servant your label?

Yet, is that where the Master of the Table wants you to be?

He’s reserved a place of honour for you, do you agree?

How you are born also determines where you eat,

Are you a dog under the table or a servant on his feet?

Or are you a son at the table, a buffet you can enjoy,

A place of privilege, born of the Master, a place of pure joy.

For born of the Spirit are the sons of the Most High,

And have a place of honour at the table they can't buy.

With the title “sons and daughters” at the wedding feast,

With Jesus, The Bridegroom, and The Great High Priest.
