You’ve got me, to be me
Cos you see me
You don’t hold back
Now you free me.
Cos you see deep down
And you free me deep down
You took a good look
And you helped me unclown
You saw my whole frame
And you took my whole shame
You saw what I couldn’t
And you built it again
You took my hurts and lies
Redefined my whole demise
Became them at the cross
And to my surprise
You rose and flew again
Took it all for now and then
You fulfilled all the whys
The what’s, the how’s, and when.
You smashed it, crashed it,
Paid up and cashed it.
Took the lash for me
And then buried the hatchet.
You see I’m Father’s son
Not just anyone
I’m clear, near, without fear,
You put me out in front, never bringing up the rear.
I’m stood, stayed,
seated and weighed,
I’ve been found no longer wanting
My sins are all erased.
I’m now fine with the Divine,
rooted in the vine,
Pals and partaker,
Of the bloodstained wine
Suited and booted,
I’m refound and rerouted,
I was lost, without a voice
But now I’m unmuted.
I’m wise in His eyes,
Freeing truth over lies,
I’ve turned a new leaf,
And taken off the disguise.
I’m putting on the new
And stripping off my blue
Lying on His green pastures
For my good Shepherd's view.
I couldn’t match up
But no second looks
Cos there’s no yellow cards
In my Saviour’s Book
My name's now engraved
Etched in the Lamb's Book of Life.
Written in blood
For the afterlife
But it’s already started,
The work He’s begun
Finished at the Cross
To be His son
Can I interest you too
In the truth that sets free
You see He doesn’t hold back
Here’s the freed me!
