Destiny

The heat was intense
She had a sore back
But She kept going.
Her mother-in-law needed food.
All day
All hot day.
Then one of the men came over.
He said, “Boss says come and eat.”
She followed shyly
Not sure.
She knew she didn’t fit.
She sat at the far end of the table
Hoping to hide in the noise of food.
He smiled at Her
That was all.
Just as She got up to leave
He said, “Stay in our fields
You will be safe here.
My girls will protect you.
No man will come near.”
She nodded
And left.
When She went home
Tired and a little confused
Her Mother-in-law smiled.
Because She understood.
He had noticed Her
The first day She arrived
Quiet, shy, hardworking
But a foreigner.
He asked about Her
Heard the story
But still, who was She?
Over the harvest
The relationship grew
Proper, honoring each other.
But always quiet
He followed the rules
Faught for Her
Eventually She became His wife.
Her name was Ruth.
He was Boaz.
Many think the greatest love story ever.
But no.
She had a destiny
She didn’t even know about
The Moabitess became a mother.
Then Her family line became Royalty.
Finally, the most Royal of all
JESUS
But She was a quiet woman.
Who fulfilled Her destiny.
If we fulfil our destiny
Where Will God
In His precious plan
Take Us?
We may not see it now
Ruth never did.
But
Are you a Ruth?
A Boaz?
Are you doing what He has called You to?
In your quiet, humble Home.
Father God sees the bigger picture
Follow Him
He knows where He is taking You.
