“Excuse me”, Molly said

“Can I sit on your knee?”

So she did.

He continued to talk

She rested

Slowly, gradually, her eyes shut

She fell asleep

He continued

Gently moving her into a more comfortable position.

After a while, she woke

Rubbed her eyes, smiled

“Thank you”, she said

He smiled and kissed her forehead.

“Excuse me” Johnny said

“Can you help me?”

“Of course”  He said

“I’m confused”

“I’m also a bit lonely”

“Can I talk to you?”

“Of course” He said

So Johnny talked.

“Thank you”, Johnny said.

He smiled and kissed his forehead.

“Excuse me”, Susie whispered

“I’m lonely, and I’m scared.”

“Will you sit with me?”

“Of course”, He said and sat down.

She sat for a while

Not speaking, just breathing.

“Thank you“, she said

“Love you, sweetheart”

He leaned forward and kissed her forehead.

“Excuse me”, Joe mumbled

“ I hate my life”

“Can I tell you about it?”

“Of course, He said

So Joe sat down

He began to talk, then cry

Then Joe was silent for a very long time.

Then Joe smiled, “Thank you “, he said

“You are most welcome, anytime.”

He leant forward and kissed his forehead.

Then Jessica.

She stormed into the room.

Two hands on her hips.

“I am angry, so angry with you,

Sometimes I even hate you.”

He smiled, leaned forward.

And kissed her forehead.

She stopped, huffed, but breathed out.

Then she turned and walked a few steps

Turned again and faced Him.

“I am still angry.” She said

“I know but I still love you.” He said smiling.

She turned and then!

“I know” she said.

Then came Laurie

He walked up, sat on the ground

“Fix it, me, them, whatever”

“I don’t know who I am,

Or what I am. Confused. Com”

“I know” He said

But I know you,

I accept you,

I love you.”

Laurie broke

He cried, not quite, gentle tears

Big sobs, snotty tears

Body heaving wails.

He reached down

Gathered him in His arms

And just waited.

Finally Christie came.

“Hello” she said

“Hello darling”,,, He answered

“Bit of a hard day, she continued

“But this is the best bit.”

“You and me, we get to talk for a while.”

He smiled and kissed her forehead.

She whispered! I am sure more people want to talk to You.”

“There are, beautiful.” He answered, smiling again.

“Ok, see You in the morning!”

“Yes, He said I will be right here waiting for you.”

“I know, Thank You Jesus. “I love You.”

“I love you too, Christie, I always have.”

She snuggled down in the bed.

Jesus just smiled again.
