I want to tell you a story that will be hard to believe,
The story is about a Saviour and one who came to deceive.
For, in the beginning, God made his creation and gave them a garden,
And despite all the wonder and the glory, did their hearts harden?
They instead listened to the Serpent and failed to believe what God had said,
And ate of the Tree of Good and Evil, their spirits became dead.
Aware of their nakedness and their shame, covering up the mistake they made,
Realising that terrible error, they expected punishment and became afraid.
But God, in his infinite mercy, covered their shame with a blood sacrifice
Although no longer allowed to walk, the garden excluded the price.
And through one terrible error, Adam and Eve were left reaping,
For them and the generations after, a life of pain, suffering, and weeping.
So, throughout the centuries that passed, the original sin was repeated,
Humanity is in constant conflict, lost in sin, without God defeated.
And yet, throughout history, God was planning a change in the story,
Right from the start, he had a plan of redemption for his glory.
He had an ultimate way of saving his creation, offering the solution,
There was only one option for humanity to come out of their pollution.
So, God gave his only Begotten Son to the world, given over to sin,
That whoever believed in Him should not perish, but everlasting life begin.
Taking upon Himself the sin of the world, Jesus died on the cross,
Yes, all the sin that humanity had committed, all of that dross.
Breathing His last and committing His spirit, He completed what the Father's willed,
With all His enemies, worldly and demonic, jubilant having had Jesus killed.
But know that’s not the end of the story; after three days up from the grave, He rose,
The stone rolled back, and an empty tomb except for His grave clothes.
Seen by Mary, Jonah and several others, raised from the dead, the new creation.
Jesus the Christ, the Saviour of the world, God in fullness now incarnation.
Now in heaven with God the Father waiting for all His enemies to be defeated,
With the name above every other name, King of Kings and Lord of Lord now seated
Waiting for His Bride, the Church, to be made ready and arraigned in all her glory,
Then to return to destroy his enemies, reign as King and conclude his Love story.
