I love to gaze

At the stars and all their wonder

That sparkle different hues ….

Space and time

Bow down to your enthronement

But Lord I never really knew ….

How all the stars

Vibrate to precious words you’ve spoken

How you can fit

A million years into a moment

Of loving you

I know how slow

You are to wrath and anger

Your love is always new…..

I feel your grace

When I am broken

And yet I never have a clue …

I never learnt

About your glorious kingdom

When I was back at school …

I’ve never known

The facts of your creation

But how I love to muse ….

How all the stars

Vibrate to precious words you’ve spoken

How you can fit

A million years into a moment

Of loving you

You say the flowers

Reflect all heaven’s glory

So we have no excuse ….

And so for hours

I scrutinise the mystery

I long to know the truth …:

All heaven and earth

Are like a book to me

Its pages I peruse …

I scour its words

With questions such as these

I want the answer to …..

Your love is like

Sweet port wine in which

My heart has been infused

Its taste reminds

My dry, thirsting lips

Of the wonders I pursue ….

How all the stars

How you can fit

How you made the earth

My body from the mud

Is a query so huge ….

Why I’m worth so much

Why I’m so deeply loved

And here’s another few ….

These facts I need

From deep within me

An endless queue ….

That my heart will hear

That I hope you’ll whisper

The answers to ….

But now as I drink

From the mountain stream

And worship you …

It all begins

To make sense to me

I’m no longer confused…

Now I see why stars

I saw you fit
