State of our nation and our hearts

I see the rending of our filthy garments in the streets.

I hear the fierce rips of cotton and linen once paraded on social media and on catwalks. These are our filthy rags. Many have watched Les Mis etc... but could not see their own wretched filth. We now have eyes to see as deceit is exposed in our nation. Many despair, but many, Lord, trust in You!

We return to our King seated high above on his throne!

We are on our knees in the streets again.

We cry out for His way!

A pure, precious way again, so that we can walk it once again.

We understand judgment comes first; it must surely come. How far we have fallen! In Wrath remember mercy is our cry, for ourselves, those we love, most of all for our Nation.

Like Israel of past times...

Her filthiness clung to her skirts;

She did not consider her future.

Her fall was astounding;

There was none to comfort her.

“ Look, O Lord, on my affliction,

For the enemy has triumphed.” Lamentations 1v9 NIV

They cried out to the Lord in their trouble,

And he brought them out of their distress.

He will surely bring us out of our distress. Psalm 107 v 28 NIV

We call on the name of Jesus in these times. We say Lord, we put our trust in you, you and You alone will bring us out of our distress!

Proverbs 3v6 NIV

In all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

A whisper was heard in the streets, a murmur growing stronger with his heartbeat! I love You, Lord, are my strength!

The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer;

My God is my rock, in whom I take refuge.

He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.

And I called the Lord, who is worthy of praise,

and I have been saved from my enemies. Psalm 18 v 2-3 NIV

I am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine; he browses among the lilies.

He is on his way.

Who is your beloved?

Who is your rescuer?

Because Jesus is on his way! Song of Songs 2 v16 NIV

I see the Blue Peter Ship sail once more. We sail on a sea of trouble, but DO NOT FEAR!

We are not lost, rescue is at hand!

Hear my prayer, O Lord;

Listen to my cry for mercy.

In the day of my trouble, I will call to you,

for you will answer me.

Among the gods, there is none like you,

O Lord;

No deeds can compare with yours.

All the nations you have made

Will come and worship before you, O Lord;

They will bring glory to your name.

For you are great and do marvellous deeds;

You alone are God. Psalm 86 v 6-10 NIV

[We cry out, Lord, because we KNOW rescue will come.]

Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble,

And he saved them from their distress.

He brought them out of darkness and the deepest gloom

And broke away their chains.

He sent forth his word and healed them;

He rescued them from the grave.

Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love

And his wonderful deeds for men. Psalm 107 v 19-20 NIV

Jesus is our rescue, our Saviour, our refuge and strength

An ever-present help in time of trouble. Psalm 46 v1 NIV

Turn to Him. He is YOUR rescuer and Him alone!

He is your redeemer. It doesn’t matter how filthy your rags are.

[ Holds up torn garment]

It doesn’t matter how long they have been filthy. It doesn’t matter...your shame, your failure, your distress. He’s dealt with it ALL by His blood!

YOU are made clean by the blood of the Lamb; which means you can forget all that shame.

You can leave it alone in the past, and you can celebrate life today.

You can KNOW that HE is your rescuer. When everything in the Nation seems like turmoil and trouble...

You ARE NOT sailing on waves of distress.

YOU are victorious on the waves of His rescue, of forgiveness, of His love.

Just open your arms today to Father God.

HE is your light and your salvation. Psalm 27 v1 NIV

It doesn’t matter where you have been.

It doesn’t matter where you have come from.

It doesn’t matter where you live.

Just CALL on HIM.

HE is waiting.

HE is your rescue!
