The Garden

Today is the next day of your life
You have a choice
It can be good.
It can be interesting
It can be wonderful
Or you can cope with it or not
Just because it isn’t what you wanted
Doesn’t mean it’s not for you.
A beautiful garden begins in the dirt.
The destruction of what was previously there.
The stones are removed,
The grass pulled out
The weeds killed and removed.
This leaves a bare patch of ground.
Then the planner comes in.
He hears what the client wants.
He goes away, thinks, considers and returns with a plan.
Then the reconstruction starts.
Slowly, sometimes painfully, sometimes short, sometimes long.
The right people with the right skills come and do their bit.
Finally, after time, maybe years,
A beautiful garden is there for all to see and enjoy.
Is this not true of you?
The Master planner knows what is best for you.
Sometimes it feels like your life has been hit by a wrecking ball,
Sometimes all you see is bare ground.
But slowly over time, it changes
You learn to run to Him.
You seek His face.
You ask questions
Seek advice.
Slowly, sometimes very slowly
We learn He is the Master planner.
He knows where you should be planted.
What is best for you
So you can grow into who you are meant to be.
Still in His presence, and He (Jesus) will make
Your life is a beautiful garden that you and others can enjoy.
Let the Master grow you, water you, prune you
And help you to grow into a beautiful example of
What unconditional love can do in a life.
Beauty for ashes
Bare rocky ground becomes a garden.
