The Storm

She wandered down the beach.
And perched on her favourite rock.
She gazed out to sea,
The sunlight bounced over the ripples on the water.
It was blue, silver and twinkly.
But out on the horizon
She noted a storm brewing.
She smiled.
The day was warm.
But as the afternoon moved on
The temperature began to drop.
Slowly, but she noticed it.
The wind began to increase.
Even the seagulls moved inland.
The azure blue sky became darker
Moodier.
As grey, then black clouds
Rushed closer.
She pulled her cardigan closer.
But she stayed
She needed to stay.
The waves increased
Became angrier
More aggressive.
Louder, bigger.
Now they were muddy green.
The spray hit her pace
Like icicle needles.
But she sat on.
Feeling more alive than she had in weeks.
She was wet through.
But so much calmer.
If He could set boundaries for the sea,
Then He could take care of her.
At the height of the storm
The waves crashing, the wind howling
She was at peace.
Thank you she said.
Thank You, Lord.
She got up.
Wet, cold, but alive.
She walked home
It was all in perspective again.
Is it all in perspective for you?
