Awake, Awake, O Church

It’s time to rise and shine.

It’s time to open eyes, ears and mouths

and toe the Spirit’s line.

It’s time to open up hearts of love

and look upon those fields.

It's time to pray ‘Lord, mercy’ for a nation

and then await those Jesus yields.

For let there be prayer in the life of the Church

Prayer in a Church with life

Life in the prayers of the Church

and life in a Church with prayer.

For the Church with prayer brings life

And the Church with life has prayer.

So, let’s stoke that flame

in Jesus Name

and fan in to flame that prayer gift.

For he who prays

is prayerful, therefore careful

and the Name of Jesus uplifts.

For the prayer of the righteous

It’s effective

Unto asking and receiving.

The prayer of the righteous

most powerful

unto ask, seek, knocking and yet always believing.
