Challenge

I set before you a challenge, says the Lord, to choose what I set before you, to choose from the options I give you and to accept the consequences of your choice. You will need your wits about you because they are not what they appear and must be discerned, and they must be about what you know about me from what has been revealed to you. 

The choices you have before you are different for everyone. Each has different preferences and weaknesses, and those choices are designed to show you what is in your heart, to expose the good as well as the bad. So, will you choose with the right heart, choosing only those things that would please me or those that would please you? 

There are many choices, and each comes at a cost, and each will be examined. Those found wanting will be exposed and burnt up in my fiery indignation. Those who have been chosen wisely, with consideration of the cost and with the right motivation, will still be tested but will come through the fire instead and receive the reward. You see, life is full of choices, but there is only one wise choice: to choose my Son Jesus. Once you have chosen him, all the other choices will come into place about him, says the Lord. 

“But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?”

Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”
