Where does my help come from?

No one in the world doesn't need help at one time or another, and if we are honest, it is more regular than that.

But where do we go when we need help? What well do we drink from when we are thirsty, what table do we eat from when we are hungry, and who do we go to to be filled when we are empty?

The world thinks it is brilliant at offering solutions to this need we have, but it always leaves us still wanting and never truly helping. So, still needing help and desperate to receive even a crumb, we seek and take what is on offer and usually find ourselves in a worse place. Many who are in need try and find help in alcohol, drugs, momentary pleasure and gratification. This will only leave them still struggling not only with unresolved stress but also with shame, hopelessness and desperation.

So, if the world cannot help, where does our help come from? Psalm 121 answers that question: "My help comes from the Lord, maker of heaven and earth."

If you need help, turn to the Lord and ask. He will provide all your needs out of his rich and glorious supply.

Jesus is your helper in times of need and is always willing to help. He never runs out of help and always has a solution tailored to your needs.

So go to him first and ask for his help; you will not be disappointed.

I will lift up my eyes to the hills— From whence comes my help?

My help comes from the LORD, Who made heaven and earth.

He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber.

Behold, He who keeps Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.

The LORD is your keeper; The LORD is your shade at your right hand.

The sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon by night.

The LORD shall preserve you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul.

The LORD shall preserve your going out and your coming in

From this time forth, and even forevermore. Psalms 121

And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. 20 Now to our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen. Philippians 4:19-20
