My Table Part 2

I sense your excitement. I'm excited too. So, you have just sat down, trying to take it all in. Let me help you with that. I will now open your eyes in the Spirit to see, your ears to hear, your heart to feel, your nose to smell, and your hands to touch all that is before you.

What do you feel? You first feel an embrace, like one you've never felt before. It is an embrace in the Spirit that instantly settles your soul, filling you with the shalom peace you've heard about but never really experienced. It touches every cell of your being, revealing, restoring and nourishing you to the core.

Next, you feel the solidity of the chair you are seated on; it's rock-solid, immovable, and secure. It is a throne made for you, yet it is soft to the touch and very comfortable, supporting your body in a way that feels like a big hand holding you close.

Then your hands feel the table that is in front of you. You feel the wood's roughness and know it is from an ancient source of great significance, from the king of trees. You sense that the wood is communicating to you in the language of the sound you hear when the wind is in the branches and the leaves. You realise that as it speaks, you have entered a realm of nature you have glimpsed before, and it envelops you, and you become one with the table, able to hear what it is saying to you. What does it say? What can you hear? Is it not whispering and confirming your identity and who you are in the great cosmos of God's Kingdom? Is it not likening you to a strong oak tree able to withstand the storms, strong and able to bear much fruit? Yes, it is.

Now look at what is before you. Can you see the cups, the plates, the utensils, and the table adornments? What do they mean? Look closely and tell me. See the plate. Describe it. Yes, it is white porcelain with words written around the rim, and it is empty, without food, for you have yet to choose what you desire from the table. Look closely at it and tell me what the words are. They are Deuteronomy 33-12. The beloved of the Lord shall dwell in safety by Him, who shelters him all the days long, and He shall dwell between His shoulders.

Have you seen the cup? Examine it and tell me what you see and feel. You see an old vessel that looks like tarnished gold, not polished for a long time. It is the cup you bear, made before time began, fashioned in heaven. It has a texture that speaks when touched, and bears witness to the goodness of God. It is encrusted with jewels of great wealth that are your reward, and is heavy with honour and glory.
