Upgrade

I had a picture this morning of a skilful electrician working on a circuit board, examining the components and analysing each one to see if it was working correctly. Then I saw him using a soldering iron to remove the components and skilfully replacing the damaged ones with new ones. I looked at the new ones; they were bright, shining and larger than before, with the word “upgrade” on the side. Many were being replaced, and the whole board was being changed and given a new, upgraded operating system.
I then thought about the season I have been going through, a season so many of us have been going through too, one in which the Lord has been putting his finger on areas in our lives, and it has been a time of intense heat and searing pain. He has identified those components that no longer operate correctly, are outdated, or even broken. They have been identified and removed to clean up our operating system.
The Lord never discards us or says that we are beyond hope. He is a redemptive God who will always take the broken, repair it, and make it better than new. He takes our broken lives and gives us a refit, ensuring that all components work as they should so that we can do His Kingdom's work.
So, how do we respond to this season? Allow the Lord to analyse and diagnose the issues that are failing you in your life. Once He has exposed them, allow Him to remove them and agree with Him that you need an upgrade. Then submit to the work, knowing that in the long run, it will benefit you. Then, wait until the job is finished before you fire up the new upgraded operating system you will now have.
This season has passed, and the new season awaits to be revealed. Be assured that it comes with new features, upgraded functions, and a new operating system free from the broken, outdated, dysfunctional system of the past.
O Israel, hope in the LORD; For with the LORD there is mercy, And with Him is abundant redemption. Psalms 130:7
