What are you Pursuing?

Life is often described as a race, and we are in it to win, but what are you pursuing in life? There is much to pursue: fame, position, power, and wealth. But do they satisfy us? Do they bring us the peace that we all crave? Indeed, pursuing worldly things will always leave us wanting more, never satisfied with what we have. It becomes not so much of a race but more of being driven to satisfy the unattainable. So, what should we pursue? What will give us what we crave? The Apostle Paul says that we should run the race to get the prize, an everlasting crown given to us by the Lord himself at the finishing line.

Activation: Take time today to consider what you are pursuing and why. Be honest with yourself, and if you find that you are running after the things of the world, repent. Ask Jesus to help you pursue him so that you can win his crown at the finish line of your life.

Do you not know that in a race, all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. Therefore, I do not run like someone running aimlessly; I do not fight like a boxer beating the air.  No, I strike a blow to my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize. 1 Corinthians 9:24-27
